1 September 2009 – Departure of the Winton Train and 1st day of train travel

Prague – Nuremberg (the length of this segment is 355 km)

  • 8:00, press conference at Prague’s Main Station prior to the train’s departure, attended by prominent Czech personalities from public life
  • unveiling of a statue of Nicholas Winton on platform 1 by its British sculptor Flor Kent
  • exhibition of student works from the Inspiration by Goodness contest
  • 9:01, festive departure of the train on its
  • on board, a documentary film will be shot on this exceptional train's journey
  • 19:02, arrival in Nuremberg on track number 14
  • festive welcome by representatives of the City of Nuremberg and the Czech ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany
  • exhibition of student works from the Inspiration by Goodness contest

2 September 2009 – 2nd day of train travel

Nuremberg – Cologne (the length of this segment is 489 km)

  • the Winton Train will continue its journey and the accompanying programme will resume, including further filming of the documentary about the journey
  • 16:57, arrival in Cologne on track number 9
  • festive welcome by the transport minister of the Federal Republic of Germany, by representatives of the City of Cologne, by Rabbi Nathan Alfred and a group of young people from the International Jewish Community in Brussels
  • exhibition of student works from the Inspiration by Goodness contest

3 September 2009 – 3rd day of train travel

Cologne – Hoek van Holland (the length of this segment is 295 km)

  • the Winton Train will continue its journey and the accompanying programme will resume, including further filming of the documentary about the journey
  • 16:50, arrival at Hoek van Holland
  • festive welcome by the transport minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Czech ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands
  • exhibition of student works from the Inspiration by Goodness contest
  • embarkation and accommodation aboard the ferry

4 September 2009 – 4th day of train travel and arrival in London

Harwich – London Liverpool Street Station (the length of this segment is 112 km)

  • 9:13, the Winton Train will continue its journey and the accompanying programme will resume, including further filming of the documentary about the journey
  • 10:43, festive arrival at London’s Liverpool Street Station and welcome with Sir Nicholas Winton
  • international press conference on the station’s premises
  • exhibition of student works from the Inspiration by Goodness contest
  • 13:00, festive reception in honour of Sir Nicholas Winton organised by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Great Britain
  • screening of the winning films from the international Inspiration by Goodness contest
  • accommodation in a hotel in London and departure back to the Czech Republic
